Who is this class for?

Anyone who is interested in getting started in the art of tattooing and learning the techniques and basic fundamentals of tattoo. No prior knowledge is necessary.

Course Outline

Location

IGLA Tattoo Boutique, 36th west 36th street, 6th floor, New York, NY, 10018

Day 1. Theory on history of tattooing, skin anatomy, skin conditions, contraindications, hygiene and sanitation. We will go over the process of getting a tattoo license in NYC and can apply together in needed.

Day 2. Theory on needle configuations, types of tattoo machines, inks and all the supplies needed for a tattoo artist. Tattoo techniques in details. First practice on fake skin.

Day 3. Theory and practice on designing sketches. We will be working on iPad with Procreate and Amaziograph apps and will go above and beyond designing tattoo sketches from scratch even if you don't any drawing background. Practice on fake skin.

Day 4. Tattooing procedure step by step from setting up a workplace to applying stencil. Marketing in tattooing, positioning your self as an artist. Practice on fake skin.

Day 5. Demo model. Today we will have a life model and the student will have an opportunity to watch the process from start to finish. Practice on fake skin.

After 5 days of training the student will receive a workbook, a gift tattoo kit, fake skin "to go" and stencil designs to take home for practice.

After a student receives a NYC tattoo license he will be invited to come to the boutique with his model and perform a procedure by himself under teachers supervision.

$500 non-refundable deposit required to secure a spot

$3500 for 5 days of personal training (includes a workbook and professional tattoo kit)

Please note

Although an iPad and Apple Pencil are NOT REQUIRED in order to design tattoos, they are highly recommended. Designing custom tattoos for your clients will be significantly easier if done in PROCREATE on an iPad. They are NOT NECESSARY to begin your career, however if possible,is a recommended investment.

Adding an additional day and practice on a life model is possible at least 2 weeks after training and everyday practice on fake skin.

Rent a chair or a private room at the boutique is also a possibility after successfully finishing training and acquiring a tattoo license.
