MEET Yulia “Yuli”
Yulia, who goes by Yuli, is a fine line tattoo artist at IGLÀ Tattoo Studio in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. Originally from Russia, she specializes in floral and minimalist work inspired by flowers, nature, and the natural lines of the body.
Before she found tattooing, Yuli spent years drawing and painting with watercolor. That softness still comes through in her work, especially in designs that feel light, organic, and made for the person wearing them.
Artist story
Hey, I’m Yuli. I grew up in Russia and have been drawing since I was a little girl. Back then, I dreamed about finding something I could love so much that it would never quite feel like work. It took me a while to find it.
I explored different creative paths, kept practicing my drawing, and fell in love with watercolor painting. Tattooing came into my life unexpectedly. I met someone who helped me see that the art I loved making could have a place on the body.
That changed everything.
Now I get to spend my days listening to people’s ideas and turning them into something they can wear. Flowers and nature are where I feel most at home. I love designs that follow the body instead of sitting on top of it, as though the lines found their place there naturally.
Tattooing became the thing I had been looking for since childhood. It gives me a way to create, meet people, and help each person express something that belongs only to them.
Specialization
Yuli specializes in fine line, floral, and minimalist tattoos. Her love of nature appears throughout her work, particularly in flowers and compositions that follow the body’s natural shape.
Her background in drawing and watercolor influences the softness of her designs. Rather than treating the body as a flat surface, she considers how a piece can move with its lines and complement the person wearing it. Her work suits clients who want something light and personal, with enough simplicity to let each carefully chosen detail stand out.

How We Start
Yuli begins by listening to what the client has in mind and what they want the tattoo to express. The idea may be specific, or it may begin with a flower, a feeling, or a few references.
During the consultation, she considers how the design can become more personal and how its lines might follow the body naturally.
