MEET Katherine
Katherine, or Kat, is a color tattoo artist at IGLÀ Tattoo Studio in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. Born and raised in New York, she creates delicate tattoos with soft movement and a playful use of color.
Her background in fashion shows in her eye for small details, but tattooing is only one of the ways she likes to create. She is usually making something with her hands, trying ceramics, working on jewelry, or exploring a new artistic technique.
Artist story
My name is Katherine, but you guys can call me Kat. I was born and raised in New York, and art has pretty much always been part of my life.
I have a background in fashion, which probably explains why I notice tiny details and love seeing how different elements come together. But I’m not very good at sticking to one creative thing. You can usually find me making jewelry, trying ceramics, or picking up another hands-on project just because it looks fun.
My tattoo work has that same curiosity behind it. I love delicate designs, color, and compositions that feel soft and flow naturally. Recently, I’ve been exploring Gongbi Hua through my floral work. It’s a traditional Chinese painting style that I’ve had the chance to learn with some really cool artists from Asia.
The people I meet are one of my favorite parts of tattooing. Every client brings a different story or way of seeing things, and I learn a lot from those conversations. I’m always excited to play with a new idea and turn it into something personal, colorful, and fun.
Specialization
Kat mainly works with delicate designs and color tattoos. She naturally gravitates toward soft, flowing compositions that have movement rather than feeling stiff or overly arranged.
Her recent floral work explores Gongbi Hua, a traditional Chinese painting style she has studied with artists from Asia. That influence gives her another way to approach fine details, flowers, and color. Kat’s background in fashion also shapes the way she sees composition. She enjoys trying new techniques, so her work continues to change as she experiments with different forms of art.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a tattoo with Kat?
Clients can request Kat through the IGLÀ Tattoo website, by phone, email, WhatsApp, or Instagram, or by visiting the studio in person. They should include Kat’s name in the inquiry so the appointment request reaches the correct artist.
How much does a tattoo with Kat cost?
The studio’s minimum tattoo price is $150. The final price of a piece with Kat depends on the design and its details, so each tattoo is quoted individually. Payments can be made by cash or card.
Do I need a deposit, and can I reschedule?

Does Kat create color tattoos?
Yes. Color is one of the main elements in Kat’s work, especially in her delicate and floral designs. Clients interested in a color piece can discuss their idea with her so the palette and composition can be considered together.
How We Start
Kat enjoys clients who bring her something personal, even when the idea is still a little loose. She is open to exploring different directions and finding a way to make the concept feel fun and individual.
The consultation is a chance to share the idea, talk through the details, and discuss how color or movement could become part of the finished tattoo.
