MEET Cat

Cat is an illustration and realism tattoo artist at IGLÀ Tattoo Studio in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. Drawing has been her favorite way to spend time for as long as she can remember, especially the kind of detailed pencil work that can keep her occupied for an entire day.

Tattooing gave that familiar feeling a new direction. Cat now brings her drawings onto the skin, choosing projects that challenge her technique and give her something new to learn.

Artist story

Hi, I’m Cat!

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. Pencil drawing is still one of my favorite things to do. I can sit down to work on one piece, look up much later, and realize that most of the day has disappeared. I’ve never minded. Drawing is where I feel comfortable.

Tattooing gave me that same feeling almost immediately. I loved seeing a drawing leave the page and become part of someone’s body. Even my first tattoo made me feel that I had found something I wanted to keep doing.

I especially love illustration and realism because they give me so much to study. There is always another detail to notice or another part of the technique I can improve. I enjoy work that asks me to slow down and really look.

I don’t want to make the same tattoo over and over. I want each new piece to challenge me in some way, even if the difference seems small. That constant push to draw better and tattoo better is a huge part of why I love this work.

Specialization

Cat is especially interested in illustration and realism tattoos. Her love of pencil drawing influences the way she approaches detail, form, and the gradual development of an image.

She enjoys projects that require close observation and give her a technical or creative challenge. Although illustration and realism are her strongest interests, Cat remains open to ideas that take her work somewhere new. She sees each tattoo as an opportunity to test what she can do, improve a specific part of her technique, and grow beyond the piece she completed before it.

Cat is especially drawn to illustration and realism. She enjoys detailed designs that allow her to study an image closely, develop it through drawing, and challenge herself with each new tattoo.

How We Start

Cat enjoys ideas that give her something interesting to draw and develop. During the consultation, clients can share their concept, references, and the details they want to preserve in the final image.

She then studies the idea as an illustration, considering which elements need more focus and how the drawing can be adapted into a tattoo.
